We’ve identified three issues:... [Read more]We are a group of Evanston dads of Black children in D65 schools. We are extremely concerned about the educational challenges facing Black boys in the district and have decided to take action.
We’ve identified three issues:
1. The literacy gap between Black students and their counterparts,
2. A sense of belonging
3. Visibility of Black male role models.
We have established this weekly Saturday morning program at Fleetwood-Jourdain Center that targets 3rd-5th grade Black male D65 students. We will lead a socially distanced, fun-filled, two-hour program, featuring group reading and sports activities. Breakfast for the children will be provided. [Read less]
